God's outstanding grace

This week at SALT it is Kim's turn to set the challenge. She has chosen the awesome topic of God's grace.

God provides us with a measure of grace each and every day, to face hardships, to grant us patience and forgiveness, to strengthen us in a time of temptation....but most importantly God's grace delivers us from the bondage of our sins by enabling us to trust in Christ as Savior.

I am only just starting to understand what that word really means (and I've been a Christian for 10yrs!). I am sure that there are many people out there, including committed Christians who have not fully grasped what it means to be saved by grace. It has been a huge change for me in my thinking and my love for Jesus has grown stronger.

Here's a few things I jotted down on my layout about what Grace means for me.

I'd be really encouraged to see your take on the challenge!

In this layout I've used Creative Imaginations Narratives paper, Bazzill cardstock, Scripture by Design Journaling card, Basic grey,Bella and MM alphas and a big photo of ME!!!

DCM Dare- Hide and Seek

This week at Daring Card Makers, Kathy has set the dare:

Okay, for my dare we're heading to the playground for a game of
Hide & Seek
I'd like you to make a card which has a hidden component of some sort. The hidden part could be a tag, a concealed photo, message or something along those lines, maybe a pull-out or pop-up.Anything goes as long as there's something extra for the recipient to find on your card that's not immediately visible when they open the envelope.

Ok, so it has been a while since I've done a DCM dare. But I thought I'd have a go at this one. I thought I might put a bit of a twist in this. You see the hidden bit in this IS THE CARD!

It's a card for my friend Carol and I've hidden it in a cute silver container that actually has a nice big magnet on the back. So, she will be able to keep on looking at her card while it is in it's container on the fridge being used as a magnet!

Oh yeah and there is a special Scripture by Design stitched verse on the inside also!

Blessings,

Encouragement

I am a huge fan of encouragement...how about you?

Even a little bit goes a long way for me.

This week at salt it was Hazel's turn to set the challenge:

Here on Salt we have been very encouraged by your comments and by the wonderful creations that you have shown us as together we have combined our faith and our love of crafting.I love that verse in 1 Thessalonians 5:11: 'Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.' - in fact, there is so much about encouragement in those letters, and indeed, in other letters from Paul. Encouragement is such a blessing to receive and also to give.

SO I decided to make a card for my friend Rach. Although we now live 6 hrs from each other, she is always a source of encouragement to me!

Where your treasure is...

Gillian has set the challenge this week at SALT.

The verse we have been inspired by is
"For where your treasure is, there your heart shall be also." Mat 6:21

Here's a card I put together using piece of a printed transparency (with the verse on it) that we make at Scripture by Design

John 3:16

Can you imagine the pain and anguish of giving up your firstborn so that people (many of whom don't know you and some who hate you) could have forgivness of sins and eternal life?

That's what the verse John 3:16 is all about. This week at SALT, we've had a go at constructing a project that includes this verse or in some way represents it.

I made this set of nine inchies for my friend Jo for Christmas.

It's my first attempt at inchies and I had alot of fun!
Don't forget to pop on over to the SALT blog and
have a peek at the other girl's work.

Jesus, the true meaning of Christmas

It is my turn to set the challenge this week at SALT. This time it is

Jesus, the true meaning of Christmas.

So, all my life I have wanted an Advent calender. What does that have to do with Jesus??? Well, I made this one for my children and...

In each of the drawers they will find either part of a Bible verse which we stick on the fridge and make the complete verse, or they find some other little treasure. They love it and look forward to opening the drawers each day!

Blessings, Casey

(p.s. This design is from a pattern in Scrapbook Creations Vol 48)

Salt Bi-weekly challenge

OOPS! Almost forgot to post my contribution for the Salt- Bi Weekly Challenge onto my own blog!!!

The theme this time was light.

So many times, Jesus and His children are referred to as the LIGHT in this dark world.

So, in keeping with this theme, I made these itty bitty keyrings for the group of yr12 students we farewelled from our school at their formal the other night. These were for the girls in particular because they were the ones with whom I had the most contact. They are a special bunch and I will really miss them.

Don't forget to pop on over to SALT and check out what the other ladies have come up with!

Blessings,

Casey

Salt Bi-weekly challenge

Here's our latest challenge for you all to have ago at!

"And I (Lythan) would like you to carry on singing through this week's challenge
From the hymnbook...take your inspiration from a hymn or song that means
a lot for your faith
Old hymn, new song, overtly Christian or kind of hidden, God speaks to us in music in all sorts of ways.I can't wait to see your response!"
So, I was looking at this photo of my girl and her cousin and thought to myself how amazing our creator God is and that He is the giver of life. He takes so much care in creating us all so individually.

Blessings,

Casey

The Challenge this week at SALT:

This week's theme is
JESUS IS LORD! I (Kimberly) chose this because this is the start of our journey with God, acknowledging Jesus as our Lord and becoming born again! The wonderful thing is that it is so easy to join God's kingdom!

If you confess with your mouth, JESUS IS LORD and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with the mouth that you confess and are saved.

Romans 10:9-10

So, here's a little table tidy I made for my niece Eloise- I have written a verse on it for her so this truth may be available for her to read over and over!
For this project I have used some KaiserCraft paper and wooden table tidy. I've also added a little bit of KaiserCraft bling and some ric rac.

Blessings,

SALT Challenge

Unreal...It's time again for our fortnightly challenge at SALT...

Gillian here and it's my turn to set the challenge this week and I've chosen
God's Promises.
So many times we are guilty of breaking promises,
or have been on the other end of a broken promise,
but what a wonderful blessing to know
that when God makes a promise it's steadfast.
We'd love to see what Promise from God you choose to use as your basis for your challenge
so leave us a comment when you are finished your piece,
so that we and others may see your work.To get you inspired the Design Team have come up with some beautiful pieces.

So..here's what I came up with. I captured this image of my husband and children at the beach the other day and then put it together with one of my favourite promises of God on a canvas. It now has pride of place on the mantle over our fire place.
P.S....the little tile down the bottom is one of our new Handstamped Tiles in our range...I have grunged it up a bit to suit the L.O.

Water water everywhere!

This week at SALT it's Esther's turn to set the challenge!

'WATER'
Water is such an important element in our lives, we can't live without it, just like our Lord and Saviour! It appears in so many places in the Bible, more than I realised. Here are a few examples to get you thinking, Noah and the flood, Jesus' 1st miracle; water into wine, calming of the sea, walking on water, baptisms, fishing, washing/cleansing, rivers, pools etc.

I decided to do one of those "pass it on" type encouragement cards. I got this photo from the web. For me, water is something that cleanses and refreshes.

Casey

Life to the full!

This week it was my turn to set the challenge at SALT!

I chose "Life to the Full" It is inspired by John 10:10b where Jesus says "..I have come that they may have life and have it to the full."

I think that sometimes people think that being a Christian is about following rules and living a boring life. In fact quite the opposite is true. As a Christian I feel more alive than I ever have before and more free to be the woman Christ has made me to be. The greatest treasure in the whole world is peace with God. Having that makes me feel like I am living life to the full!
